Farro is an amazing, versatile grain, but who wants to stand around watching it cook on a stovetop? Use this easy method to cook farro in an Instant Pot instead!
Ingredients
- Farro (1 cup)
- Water (1¼ cups)
Instructions
Before starting, ensure that the stainless-steel inner pot is in the Instant Pot.
Step 1
Add the farro (1 cup) to the stainless-steel inner pot and spread it out evenly.
Step 2
Add the water (1¼ cups) and press the farro down with the back of a spoon to submerge it as much as possible.
Step 3
Lock the Instant Pot lid in place by turning it to the right (clockwise).
Step 4
Select Pressure Cook on High for 7 minutes and press Start.
Step 5
When the timer beeps to signify the end of 7 minutes, allow a natural pressure release for at least 10 minutes. Then, hold down the Pressure Release knob with a wooden spoon to quickly release any remaining pressure.
Step 6
Once the metal Float Valve has dropped, signaling a full pressure release, turn the lid to the left (counterclockwise) to unlock it. Lift the lid and stir the farro to fluff it before serving.
Enjoy the farro as a side dish, topped with your favorite vegan protein, or in salads, such as Farro and Kale Salad with Blistered Tomatoes.
Equipment
