Why you’ll love this recipe

  • It’s effortless: With only a baking sheet, a bowl, and a few minutes of prep time, this dish is the definition of easy.
  • It goes with everything: Oven-roasted broccoli goes well with virtually any main dish, adding color and depth of flavor.
  • It’s so healthy: Broccoli is one of the healthiest foods you can eat, with a range of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Roasting it without oil allows you to enjoy its taste and benefits without added fat.

Ingredients

  • Broccoli florets: Either fresh or frozen broccoli works, but if you’re using frozen, be sure to thaw it before putting it in the oven. Broccoli is a superfood high in fiber and protective antioxidants.
  • Low-sodium tamari: Adds a mellow umami flavor and helps the powdery seasonings stick to the broccoli. Tamari tastes similar to soy sauce and is typically gluten-free (but check the label make sure).
  • Nutritional yeast: A yellow, flaky seasoning that adds savory notes to any dish. Nutritional yeast is high in B vitamins.
  • Onion powder: Adds savory flavor. Benefits include supporting the immune and cardiovascular systems.
  • Garlic powder: Boosts flavor and contributes heart-healthy benefits.
  • Freshly cracked black pepper: To taste.
